Does toothpaste really work on zits?

yeah i used it last night on one that was coming in and this morning its like not thereDoes toothpaste really work on zits?
many ppl say that it does work, or say it dont work. It does dry your skin out, but can leave it more red and irritated. If your skin is really sensitive. If you leave it on overnight it might bring it to a head then pop it. So it will be flat. Better flat and red then huge and red. Report Abuse
Does toothpaste really work on zits?
Yes it does
hell no
yes it does,.... due to the chemical compounds in tooth past it kill germs and other bacterial that may be on your skin+ it absorbs the skins oils to help reduce the size.
Yah but only if your skin is of enamel.
No, but exercise (i.e. running) does wonders on zits as I never really had one while in school!
Yeah toothpaste does work on zits because it dries them out but you have to be using Acne Wash or Acne Pads.
well last week i was goin on this date and then i saw when i was gettin dressed that i had this BIG zit

and i had nothing to put on it and my date was like coming in soon and i could not just like run to the store so i heard that if you put toothpast on your zit it will go away

and it atually workted!

so the answer to your quistion is yes!
Yes it does.
I doubt it.

What does work is taking an egg and separating the yolk. Discard the yolk and smear the egg whites over the affected skin. Let dry until it's totally dry, then peel it off. There are egg replacements that are 100% egg whites and are ultra pasteurized, which would work even better and would be sure to be salmonella free.

Do this every night after washing the affected area(s) well. Wash again after peeling it off.
I doubt.
It probably depends on what type of skin

you have. I have sensitive skin so it would brake me out.

My answer would be no
People have come up with some pretty inventive home remedies for zits. Some home remedies for pimples have included potatoes, vinegar and lemon juice, toothpaste, garlic, lime juice and basil. Some have claimed that these and other home remedies for pimples have worked for them quite well.

I have found that it does dry up zits overnight if you apply it to a pimple right before bed. Some people think it is bogus because it doesn't work on what they think is a pimple, but is really rosacea, eczema or some other serious skin problem. It isn't going to work on a full face of serious acne.
i dont know does it?
yes
ha, it never worked on hickies.
no. by the way what r zits?
yes it does, the cheapest way to go
some times it depines on the kind of bump
A lot of teenagers have vouched for the effectiveness of toothpaste in removing a pimple overnight. For toothpaste fans, they recommend a particular brand, Colgate Total. According to them, this brand of toothpaste is highly effective in removing a zit overnight or even within a few hours. Just dab a small portion of the fluoride on the offending bump and you don鈥檛 have to worry about tomorrow.

According to those who鈥檝e had experience of using this remedy, toothpaste does help in eliminating occasional zits. It dehydrates the pimple and absorbs the oil, leaving the skin clear as it was before. But like other unproven methods and remedies, it does have its dangers. For one, toothpaste might not work for everybody. It could result in burns, particularly on sensitive skin. It has been reported that repeated use of this product can cause the skin to dry. Irritation is also possible when using toothpaste to eradicate a pimple.

Overnight solutions are just too good to be true; like using toothpaste to prevent zits. This technique might work for some individuals but not for those who have sensitive skin. Maybe it鈥檚 good if you only use it once or twice and only if you really have no other options available; otherwise, just use the product on your teeth, it鈥檚 formulated for that purpose anyway.
yeah i use it every other night
Yes it does.
Kind of. I heard that if you put it on a bump before you go to bed it'll bring it to a whitehead. Which is good in a way cause you can squeeze it out in the morning and it should be gone. But then again you don't know whether that bumps gonna be gone in the morning and you've just made worse by putting toothpaste onto it. Sounds a bit confusing but i know what i'm on about, lol.
