My doctor prescribed me amoxicillin, which is an antibiotic. I take it twice daily by mouth for acne. Clears up decently fast. Of course, there are also other antibiotics too, along with prescription creams and micro-jels like Retin-A and Bezaclin. I hope I helped :)
